Southern Skirmish - Round 4

We can't believe we are at the final round already - this tournament is just flying by. Let's get on with it then...

The results as at the end of round 3 are as follows:

We have also added a webpage to this site (linked from the event homepage) on which you will be able to see live updates of the results as they arrive. For that reason, please only submit a single form each with your results (both players to still submit though). If you realise that there has been an error on that submission, please let the TOs know in the Messenger group or by email to kowherts@gmail.com and we will update the master record.

The matchups for round 4 are available on the Round Pairings page of the event: https://kowherts.wixsite.com/southeastukkow/round-pairings

All the details you need are on that page, including the Scenario, Map name in UB2, the free special character everyone will use this round (also shown below) and the results submission deadline.

With regards to loading the map, if you are going to load your army, tokens, etc., from a saved game file, please ensure that you load the map last. If you load it first instead, please go back into load terrain and change the background back to Desert. Here is a key for the terrain on the map for this round:

Tower rules

This map has two ‘towers’. Towers are tall, defensive alternatives to hills. They have the following rules:

  • In order to be on the tower for game purposes, a unit must have at least half of its unit base on it. When a player intends their unit to be on a tower, they should make this clear to their opponent.

  • A unit in a tower counts as in cover.

  • If a unit’s leader point is on a tower, then that unit ignores the tower for checking LoS. Otherwise towers impact LoS as described below.

  • While on a tower, a unit adds that tower’s Height to its own (6). For example, a Height 2 unit on the tower would be Height 8 while it’s stood on the tower.

  • A firing unit that is currently in base contact with the tower wall (from the inside), ignores it for determining whether an enemy unit is in cover, unless the enemy unit is also in contact with the same tower.

  • While moving At the Double, units treat towers as Blocking Terrain instead. The Pathfinder rules DOES NOT negate this.

  • If a charging unit’s move has gone through or ended over any portion of a tower, then it is Hindered. The Strider special rule DOES NOT negate this.

The link to the Results Submission form can be found on the event homepage: https://kowherts.wixsite.com/southeastukkow/southern-skirmish Please ensure you submit your results ASAP after your game so we can start working on the next round without delay. Special Character for Round 4:

A unit to represent this character can be found in UB2 under the army named 'Card Kings', however you can of course choose to create your own.
